Yeremiah Bell's agent Drew Rosenhaus has told WQAM in Miami that Yeremiah Bell will sign with a new team within 24 hours. Bell worked out for the New York Jets, Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans and Kansas City Chiefs during the offseason and is expected to sign with one of those teams. If he joins the Jets, Bell will start next to LaRon Landry and get two shots at his former team, the Miami Dolphins, in 2012.
Yeremiah Bell is hoping to find a starting role in an NFL secondary. The right match for Bell might be the New York Jets, who had major trouble at the safety position last season. Yeremiah Bell's agent Drew Rosenhaus told a radio station that Bell will sign with an NFL team in the next 24 hours. He would not disclose which team it will be.
"I'm on my way to a mystery team, and I don't want to give away the negotiations." Rosenhaus told WQAM Radio today.
Bell did visit the Kansas City Chiefs on Wednesday and with a signing expected so soon, that could be the fit.
Then again, Bell might have another standing offer in his back pocket and has finally settled on where he will sign. It's all a waiting game now.
Bell is a free agent after eight seasons with the Miami Dolphins, starting 67 straight games for the team. He had 107 tackles, two sacks and an interception last season. He was a noted leader on the team as well, serving as a team captain. The connection between Bell and Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano shouldn't be discounted, as Sparano was his head coach for four seasons.
2011 Yeremiah Bell Stats
