New York Jets backup quarterback Tim Tebow has been nominated for an ESPY Award for the "Best Moment" in sports over the past year. The Tim Tebow touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in the Denver Broncos' overtime win in the first round of the playoffs has been selected as one of the four nominations for the "Best Moment" category at this year's ESPY Awards.
New York Jets quarterback Tim Tebow is up for an ESPY. The play, an 80-yard touchdown pass from Tim Tebow to Demaryius Thomas in overtime, was a crushing blow to the legions of Tim Tebow haters who thought he was in over his head against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the playoffs. It was just another wild win for the Broncos last season, just when everyone thought Tim Tebow had run out of magic.
It goes without saying, but the "Best Moment" category at this year's ESPYS is stacked. Tim Tebow is up against Derek Jeter's 3000th hit, Bubba Watson winning the Masters and the wild finish to the 2011 MLB season, with two walkoff wins in the AL East clinching a playoff berth for the Tampa Bay Rays and knocking the Boston Red Sox out of the playoff picture.
This will be another test of the draw of Tim Tebow. He's up against stiff competition, but as opposed to the Jets' starting quarterback job, this is a popularity contest. We all know Tim Tebow always draws a crowd and puts people in the seats, can he get them to vote for him?
