New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis will show up to SUNY Cortland for Jets training camp on July 26, ending speculation about another possible Darrelle Revis holdout. There has been a lot of speculation and guessing back and forth over the potential holdout, with many suggesting that Darrelle Revis would not show up for training camp on time.
There have been multiple NFL "insiders" recently suggesting that they would be surprised if New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis showed up to training camp at SUNY Cortland on time. Well, it's time to be surprised. An Associated Press report citing a source with knowledge of the decision has indicated that Darrelle Revis will be there on July 26 when the Jets open training camp.
Of course, if you've been reading along here we've been reminding you of the ultimate trump card in this whole situation: the three years that would kick in on the end of the current deal if Darrelle Revis were to hold out. For some reason that wasn't cited often in discussions of the situation.
In the end, we don't know if that was the ultimate factor or if Darrelle Revis simply wanted to show up and be with his teammates as they get ready to bounce back from an 8-8 season. Whatever the reason, Jets fans everywhere can now breathe a sigh of relief and you can bet Rex Ryan did too.
