When the New York Jets visit Heinz Field this weekend as they attempt to move to 2-0 on the season, they will do so without the services of Darrelle Revis, Dustin Keller and Bryan Thomas. Darrelle Revis is still recovering from the concussion he suffered against the Buffalo Bills, while Dustin Keller and Bryan Thomas are dealing with hamstring issues. The Pittsburgh Steelers will also likely be shorthanded as James Harrison and Troy Polamalu could miss the game.

The New York Jets were put through a roller coaster ride this week concerning the status of star cornerback and defensive centerpiece Darrelle Revis. When the injury originally occurred on Sunday against the Buffalo Bills there were fears that he had suffered a serious concussion. When it was revealed that Darrelle Revis was cleared for physical activity, there was a ray of hope that he might suit up on Sunday against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

That was scratched today when the Jets announced that Darrelle Revis would be out for this weekend. In the end it's a wise decision as no week two game is worth putting Darrelle Revis at risk. Then the bad news was piled on as the Jets will also be without tight end Dustin Keller and outside linebacker Bryan Thomas.

The Steelers will also be without some of their studs, as Troy Polamalu and James Harrison will probably sit out. That takes one of the most dangerous safeties off the field, as well as an excellent pass rusher who delivers vicious hits. In the end, the impact on the two teams from these injuries probably end up being a push.

This Sunday's game at Heinz Field between the Jets and Steelers might be decided by which team can step up and fill in for their stars, as well as which coaching staff can do a better job covering up their holes while exploiting the other side's weakness. In the end, this still figures to be a tough, physical football game that will come down to the battle in the trenches.
