New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis is still recovering from the concussion he suffered in Week One against the Buffalo Bills, which forced him to miss this past week's game versus the Pittsburgh Steelers. Darrelle Revis is still not a definite to play this weekend against the Miami Dolphins, bringing uncertainty to the secondary. The Jets are looking to bounce back and can pull it off without Darrelle Revis, but having him at cornerback would be a big boost.

The New York Jets were without cornerback Darrelle Revis last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers and could be without him once again this week when they visit the Miami Dolphins. This is a game the Jets are supposed to win, an AFC East meeting that they will need to put in the win column if they are hoping to return to the playoffs this season. The Jets can match up just fine in the secondary without Darrelle Revis, but with him they can really tip the scales in their favor when the defense is on the field.

The Miami Dolphins feature a rookie quarterback and don't have a great stable of wide receivers. Ryan Tannehill is in his first season out of Texas A&M and his leading receiver is Brian Hartline. After that, running back Reggie Bush checks in with nine catches for 71 yards as the team's second-leading receiver. That should make the Jets very comfortable loading up the box and selling out against the run, potentially squashing the Dolphins offense completely.

That is, of course, if the best cornerback in the NFL is active. If the Jets have to go with some combination of Kyle Wilson and Ellis Lankster at the cornerback spot across from Antonio Cromartie they should still feel pretty confident about the matchup, but they will have to accept that utter domination on the outside isn't as likely.

With Reggie Bush having a big day last week, if Darrelle Revis is still out and the Jets are forced to give some extra support to their cornerbacks it will take away their ability to truly key in on him and focus on shutting him down. That could make this a competitive game, depending on how the offense performs.
