Loading ...New York Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis tore his ACL on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, ending his 2012 season prematurely. Darrelle Revis is highly respected around the league and players, analysts and others have expressed sympathy. Don't count Dolphins running back Reggie Bush amongst those people. Stung by the words of Calvin Pace, Reggie Bush has no sympathy for Darrelle Revis.
Following the New York Jets 23-20 overtime win over the Miami Dolphins, outside linebacker Calvin Pace told reporters, "We had to put him on out," when talking about the injury that knocked Reggie Bush out of the game. Rex Ryan spoke earlier in the week about putting "hot sauce" on Reggie Bush, something that Bart Scott talked about when he played for the Baltimore Ravens.
Reggie Bush took those words to heart and had no sympathy to offer when asked about the injury to Darrelle Revis. For the record, Reggie Bush, who has no structural damage in his knee, told the Paul and Young Ron Show:
"It's like the old saying, 'What goes around comes around.' They talked about all week about putting hot sauce and this and that, and they ended up losing their best player for the rest of the season. So, it's sad that it happened because of that, but I'm going to be back."
Reggie Bush seems to be implying that the Jets injured him on purpose, though Roger Goodell and the NFL have cleared the Jets of any wrongdoing after reviewing the tape of the play that caused his injury. Bush is also projecting his own thoughts on karma coming back to bite the Jets. That's fine, but he should expect to be a target now when he visits MetLife Stadium on Oct. 28. Don't expect the Jets to do anything illegal, but they will look to punish Reggie Bush within the rules of the game – it's always been part of Rex Ryan's philosophy.
