The New York Jets snapped a two-game losing streak by cruising to a 35-9 win over the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium yesterday. The Jets upped their record to 3-3, putting them in a four-way tie atop the AFC East. Technically the Jets have a slight edge as they are 2-0 in the division. The Jets will visit the New England Patriots this weekend for the definitive spot on top of the division. On Sunday, the Jets were able to get their ground and pound going while the defense looked the way most envisioned before the season started. Are the Jets hitting their stride right before their huge matchup with the Patriots?

The New York Jets took care of business on Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts at MetLife Stadium, setting up a big matchup at Gillette Stadium this Sunday versus the New England Patriots. The Jets were firing on all cylinders yesterday, with their running game setting the tone all game and their defense proving too tough for Andrew Luck to figure out. Antonio Cromartie came up with his second interception in as many games, shutting down a premier wide receiver once again (this time Reggie Wayne).

Shonn Greene had his best performance of the season by far, rushing for 161 yards and three touchdowns on 32 carries. The Jets fed Shonn Greene the ball early and often, with the Jets offensive line opening up holes in the Colts defense. Greene seemed to have some extra burst in his legs yesterday.

The success of the running game took the pressure off Mark Sanchez. Sanchez ended up with 82 yards passing on 11 completions with two touchdowns. The Jets didn't need to throw, but when they did take to the air Mark Sanchez had Stephen Hill and Dustin Keller back at his disposal. Dustin Keller had just one catch for six yards in his return, but Stephen Hill had three catches for 23 yards and a touchdown.

The Jets allowed just three field goals, tightening up anytime the Colts threatened their end zone. The Jets sacked Andrew Luck four times, intercepted him twice and forced him to fumble. Antonio Cromartie and Ellis Lankster came down with interceptions, while Quinton Coples, Antonio Allen and Muhammad Wilkerson all had sacks. Quinton Coples combined with Aaron Maybin on another sack.

As previously mentioned, the Jets will now go on the road to face the New England Patriots for first place in the AFC East. The Patriots are coming off a 24-23 loss against the Seattle Seahawks.
