Is New York Jets situational pass rusher Aaron Maybin a joke? Miami Dolphins center Mike Pouncey thinks so. The war of words between the Jets and the Dolphins has started back up with the rematch on the docket for this weekend. The Jets and Dolphins have jawed at each other before, but the injuries to Reggie Bush and Darrelle Revis in the previous matchup have added some real hostility to an already bitter rivalry. Antonio Cromartie has also joined in on the trash talking.
The New York Jets were the first ones to open their mouths, commenting on Reggie Bush. The Jets have talked about wanting to legally knock Reggie Bush out of games in the past, and did so back in week three. The Jets lost Darrelle Revis in that game, and Reggie Bush essentially said that what goes around comes around.
Aaron Maybin piped in again this week, saying the Jets would try to knock Reggie Bush out of the game once again – legally. Dolphins center Mike Pouncey didn't like that, calling Aaron Maybin "a joke," referring to his status as a major NFL Draft bust who burned out with the Buffalo Bills. Pouncey did mention that he does respect LaRon Landry, who also made comments about Reggie Bush.
"Honestly I don't give a …" Cromartie started saying before stopping, and stating, "I'm not going to say what I really want to say about Reggie Bush." Cromartie also called Bush's comments on the Revis injury "unprofessional."
All in all, it's just filler before the game on Sunday. This was going to be a nasty, physical game with or without talk between the two teams.
